Season 2024-25 launch
We are proud to announce Pentaèdre's 39th season!
Each concert has been planned with you in mind and will place value on the rich repertoire for winds. The musicians are thrilled to reconnect with the pianists Sandra Murray and Philip Chiu, long-time collaborators, and to welcome for the first time contralto Rose Naggar-Tremblay, pianist Meagan Milatz, host Katerine Verebely, the emerging oboist Flavie Lacoste and cellist Cameron Crozman.
The season opens on October 5th with the Carte Blanche of our flutist, Ariane Brisson. Joined by collaborators, she welcomes you on a musical journey where poetry meets the music of Crumb, Saariaho, Ravel and Debussy.
Then, on November 23rd, Pentaèdre invites you to an evening worthy of the Roaring Twenties! An unforgettable evening, hosted by Katerine Verebely and complete with glitz, 1920s cocktails, and the Art Déco décor of Crew Collective & Café awaits you!
February 22nd, Pentaèdre voyages D’un siècle à l’autre, with one of the very first works for wind quintet written by Cambini, Pilss’ charming Sérénade, the famous Quintette by Taffanel and a work by Quebec’s very own Maxime McKinley.
Accompanied by the pianist Sandra Murray, on March 15th, the ensemble pays homage to the tradition of the pieces of the Concours de Paris with some of the most beautiful pages of Fauré, Büsser, Rabaud and Balay.
Gershwin’s famous Rhapsody in Blue is at the heart of the Influences jazz program reuniting the talents of pianist Philip Chiu and Pentaèdre. On May 9th, the musicians will delight your eyes and ears with an exhilarating season finale!
So, it’s a date for the 39th season? It certainly promises to be breathtaking!
